NEW - Pictures of Albania!

President and Sister Colton welcome Elder O’Barr to ---
The Albania Tirana Mission January 12, 2005

Hello, and welcome to my Online Web site. I was called to serve as a Missionary in the Albania Tirana Mission. I reported to the Missionary Training Center (MTC) on October 27, 2004 and I left for Albania on January 11, 2005 (which happens to be my Birthday). I can check my email here in Albania. My email address is xabidar@myldsmail.net.

I can update this page from time to time with news of how I am doing, and upload some pictures of Albania and the Alabanian People. Unfortunately, Elders aren’t allowed to be online for very long, so any updates I make will be brief.

*: Because of the unreliability of the Albanian Postal Service, the Church provides a 'Pouch Service' for sending letters to the Missionaries in Albanian. It is all gathered together in Utah and mailed on Fridays. Because of this method, only regular letters, postcards, or other small, flat objects can be mailed this way. Make sure it has a full return address and name on the outside of the letter. This mail cannot contain anything except documents. No money, checks, stamps, medicine, food products or regular photos (paper copies all right). The Church will get in trouble otherwise. All other Packages, etc. must be mailed directly to the Mission Office in Albania.
You can also mail regular letters directly to the Mission Office in Albania, as it may get there quicker, but it has a higher chance of being lost in the process. It helps to put a label on the outside of the letter or package that states: “Missionary Supplies”.
There are Federal Express and DHL offices in Albania, however, new clothing, gifts, merchandise, and other “dutiable” merchandise may be subject to Albanian customs import duties. These duties are very expensive and a missionary may not be prepared to pay them..
